A comparison of computed and observed equivalent widths of the Cr II lines (multiplet No. 30) situated in the wings of the H-beta line at different distances from its center and hence formed at different depths of the stellar atmosphere is used to test the hypothesis of the anomalous concentration of chemical elements in the uppermost layer of the atmosphere of a chemically peculiar star. Synthetic spectra were computed, and the photographic spectra of the star Alpha-2 CVn in the maximal chromium phase obtained at the main spectrograph of the 6-m telescope with a dispersion of 1.3 A/mm were used. It is shown that the model with a homogeneous distribution of Cr abundance coincides with the observations, while the model with a high concentration of chromium at the level of taust of less than 0.0001 sharply contradicts the observations.
