Solar Atmosphere: Rotation, Solar Rotation: Polar Regions

The work is based on the observations of solar photospheric polar faculae carried out at the Kislovodsk Mountain Station of the Pulkovo Observatory. The data are based on daily photoheliograms obtained for 62 Carrington rotations from April 1982 to December 1986. 12211 values of sidereal rotation velocities were computed for southern and northern hemisphere. It is found that at that time average sidereal rotation rate of solar high-latitude regions is expressed by the formula ω(φ) = (12.75-2.87 sin2φ) deg./day.
