The paper examines the meridional distributions of the intensity of spectral components of Pi2 magnetic pulsations, synchronously recorded at latitudes of 53 to 74 deg. It is shown that a frequency-independent attenuation of spectral components occurs south of the auroral intensity maximum, which is located in a narrow belt of geomagnetic latitudes. The midlatitudes, corresponding to the plasmasphere, are characterized by the selective intensification of the HF part of the Pi2 spectrum, controlled by the level of magnetic activity.
