Photographic UBV photometry for 1000 stars brighter than V = 16.0 m was
carried out in a region of Stock 8. The cluster size, the extinction of
light in the direction of the cluster, and the distance are derived. The
differential luminosity function is constructed, and the cluster age and
mass are estimated.
