A unified convection-diffusion model for the propagation of galactic cosmic rays in interplanetary space is used to study different variations of cosmic rays, from semidiurnal to 11-year. An analysis is presented of physical data concerning these variations: the effective dimensions of the modulation region; the residual modulation during the solar activity minima of 1954, 1965, and 1976; and radial and transverse gradients of cosmic-ray intensity. Energy spectra for these variations are obtained.
