A spectrographic study of 17 Com A reveals periodic variations in the equivalent widths of the Sr II, Cr II, Ca II, Mg II, and Ti II lines. These variations are shown to be caused by the mottled structure of the atmosphere. A turbulent velocity of 3.7 km/s is determined. Evaluation of the chemical composition indicates that Cr, Sr, Ti, and Mg are overabundant, while Fe has a normal abundance. It is found that the height of the homogeneous atmosphere is not the same over the entire stellar surface and that patches of different elements are located mainly in places where the atmospheric height is minimal. Based on a comparison of observational results with a theoretical curve of magnetic-field variations, it is concluded that the magnetic field is more complex than a dipole. It is noted that short-period brightness variations are of a pulsational nature.
