Spectral continuum-emission coefficients of krypton over the wavelength range 370-670 nm are measured in a plasma produced in a shock tube. The xi factor was derived after subtraction of line emission. The plasma-electron density was measured with a 3.39-micron Michelson laser interferometer. Dynamic plasma-pressure measurements permitted calculation of neutral contributions and the index of refraction variation. The measured xi factors agree with other experimental data within the experimental errors. The dependence of xi on wavelength and electron density in the range 3-10 x 10 exp 16/cu cm is discussed.
