Oxidation, Laser Applications

Scientific paper

During laser treatment of materials in air surface oxidation occurs. The
formed oxide film changes the absorption coefficient for the laser
radiation. The paper presents a theoretical model for simulation of the
oxide layer growth and its influence on the temperature field in rimming
low carbon 08 sheet steel.
