Methods previously used in searches for quasi-periodicities in active dwarf Me flare stars have been applied to the low-activity, dM4 star, Gliese 588. No definite quasi-periodicity was found in the range from about 20 s to a few minutes using three analytical techniques. The implications of these results are given in the context of the Ionson-Mullan senario of coronal heating in late-type dwarfs.
