Dynamical Instability, Gravitating Systems

Scientific paper

The Ricci curvature criterion is used to investigate the relative instability of various configurations of N-body gravitational systems. Systems with double massive centers are shown to be less stable than homogeneous systems or systems with single massive centers. In general, this is a confirmation that the Ricci curvature criterion is efficient in studying N-body systems by means of relatively simple computations.
