Scientific paper

The paper examines the solution of the inverse problem for single-hop backscatter-oblique sounding of the ionosphere, including the simulation of the direct problem with allowance for the sphericity of the earth and the ionosphere. The ionosphere model that is used is the exponential parabolic distribution of electron density with height. The spreading of the leading fronts of the sounding signals due to ionospheric irregularities with a scale of about 10 km is evaluated.
