Intrinsic UV colours of early-type stars have been determined using a new method based on the assumption that there is a linear correlation between UV colour excesses and EB-V. This method makes it possible to include all stars with available photometry independent of reddening. Results derived from ANS photometric data are presented. These include intrinsic UV colours covering all ANS photometric bands for spectral types O6-A0. It is also shown that this method, based on perfect correlation between UV and visual extinction, fails for the short wavelength colour index CI (1550Å-1800Å).
