Statistical tests for the intrinsic shapes of elliptical galaxies using CCD data taken from the photometric survey of Djorgovski and Davis (1987) are reviewed. Besides the global sample (89 objects) taken from that survey, two small subsamples of discy and boxy ellipticals (15 and 16 objects, respectively) were analyzed separately. The tests applied to the global sample give inconclusive results; however, the two subsamples of discy and boxy ellipticals are consistent with having oblate and moderately triaxial shapes, respectively.
