Low resolution IUE spectra were obtained at long and short wavelengths. Ultraviolet extinction in individual lines of sight, the strength of the 2200 feature, the form of the far ultraviolet rise in extinction in directions which have anomalous optical properties, strengths of diffuse interstellar bands, and polarization were studied. The results demonstrate the extent to which these optical and ultraviolet properties can vary anomalously, independently of each other.
