The interrelationship between wave disturbances (WDs) in the E and F regions is investigated on the basis of data from nine midlatitude ionospheric stations. Spectral analysis indicates that there is a direct connection between wave processes in the Es and F2 layers for periods of 60-300 min. Large-scale WDs, observed simultaneously in the lower and upper thermosphere, propagate predominantly toward the equator (toward the southwest). These WDs are accompanied by quasi-periodic variations of plasma turbulence intensity in the E region.
