The paper develops an algorithm for solving the inverse problem of the interpretation of the light curve of an X-ray binary system in the Roche model approximation, with allowance for the ellipsoidality of the optical component and for its heating by X-rays from the compact object. The algorithm is applied to high-precision mean UBV light curves of the Cyg X-1 system, and reliable estimates of the physical parameters are obtained. It is noted, however, that the 1600-A UV light curve of Cyg X-1 cannot be represented by the Roche model if only the ellipsoidality and reflection effects are taken into account.
