Transition Probabilities: Technetium
Scientific paper
The energy levels of Tc I are interpreted in the Racah-Slater formalism by means of the computer codes of Cowan. The configuration mixing and the intermediate coupling prevent a simple designation of the levels in both parities. This theoretical interpretation leads to revise and to extend the earlier analysis with the support of predicted transition probabilities which are reported for selected strong lines. Twenty-seven new energy levels classify more than 15% of the Tc I lines previously uninterpreted. Twenty-two levels of the so far unknown configuration 4d65d are identified above 48404.50 cm-1.
