Over the last 25 years, there has been significant effort in understanding the dynamical evolution of galaxy clusters. The works in this area provided strong evidence for galaxy segregation: in clusters early-type galaxies preferentially occupy denser environments and are found near the cluster centers. We are trying now to determine whether this segregation is simply a function of redshift and of the cluster environment. To understand these issues, there has been considerable effort over the last 2 decades dedicated to studying the dynamical and morphological evolution of clusters via multi object spectroscopy and photometric imaging. We will review some of these works up to z = 1.
