Along with improved techniques of determining right ascensions and declinations, the scientific community is also enjoying the acquisition of highly accurate Doppler data and topocentric distance determinations. This paper presents the results of several investigations which examine how these data may be used to improve our knowledge of not only the orbits of the objects which are observed, but also the geometrical shape of the earth and the star catalogues which provide the fundamental inertial systems. The expected correlations and mean errors of many of the parameters involved are studied by the application of a theoretical least squares technique.
