The paper formulates a general method of searching for an anharmonic approximation expression for the gravitational potential of an axisymmetric planet, allowing integration of the equations of motion of its satellite in quadratures. Though the analysis is performed for oblate spheroidal coordinates, the possibility of using the proposed method for other systems of curved coordinates is demonstrated.
