Scientific paper
Three instrumental concepts for high energy resolution in nuclear astrophysics are discussed. The telescopes all combine germanium (Ge) detectors ({DELTA}E/E=~0.2%) providing spatial resolution in the detection plane with different aperture systems: a coded mask, a Ge Compton scatterer plane and a Laue-diffraction lens respectively. The present article briefly describes the concepts of the three gamma-ray telescopes, and, after estimating the instrumental background of each spectrometer, possible properties and sensitivities are presented.
