It is proposed that the instantaneous triple-probe method can be applied to the direct display of parameters, especially in the case of probe application during measurements carried out from spacecraft. The effect of the potential dependence of probe ion and electron currents due to the spacecraft speed, Debye ratio, ion composition, and ion to electron temperature ratio on the triple-probe technique is discussed on the basis of theory and experiment. In addition, the effect of the local electric field on the triple-probe technique is examined experimentally. The theory of the triple-probe method is extended for the very high speed collisionless plasma condition.
