The interactions between the plume from electric thrusters and the surrounding spacecraft may raise several issues at system level. In order to assist the design of spacecrafts embarking electric propulsion, EADS Astrium has developed a set of modelling tools allowing to assess the main effects of electric propulsion at system level. Several areas of modelling have been investigated: plume flow-field model, plume torques, erosion / contamination and their induced thermo-optical-RF effects, spacecraft charging, RF perturbations. Those tools have been developed in the common SYSTEMA framework. They rely on different modelling techniques, often combined with databases inferred by literature and tests. They shall now be confronted with in-flight measurements from Eurostar E3000 satellites.
