An outline of the astrophysical process leading to black holes is given and the properties of space-time that occur following an object down a black hole are discussed. Theories of gravity and the physical processes of stellar collapses are reviewed. The formation and evolution of a Kerr black hole is described. The properties of a black hole are examined from viewpoints outside the hole and falling into the hole. Also, quantum corrections to the theory of black holes are considered.
