IR spectrograms of the young irregular variable RW Aur are analyzed which were obtained with dispersions of 168 and 48 A/mm by using a single-cascade image converter attached to a 50-in. reflector. Lines due to Ca II, O I, N I, Ti I, Fe I, and H I are identified in the spectral region from 0.8 to 0.94 microns. Relative intensities of the Ca II and O I emission lines are determined, along with the line profiles and half-widths of the 8498-A Ca II triplet. These data are compared with corresponding results for T Tau, RY Tau, and AB Aur. A similarity between the spectrum of RW Tau in the region of the IR calcium triplet and that of a quiet solar prominence is discussed.
