Infrared Sources: Young Stars

Scientific paper

Based on the non-LTE model for compact H II regions around YSOs, this paper presents a study of infrared spectral line fluxes and their ratios. The authors derive linear relationships between Pfγ/Brα and Brγ/Brα, as well as between Pa7/Brα and Brγ/Brα. These relationships can be used to estimate the foreground extinction of YSOs provided that three line observations are available. Besides, they conclude that the line excess phenomenon in YSOs can be explained if the central source and wind parameters are properly selected. The results for some IR sources are given.
