An analytical solution for the damping of gravitational waves in the early Universe due to freely streaming neutrinos is found in the long wave length limit. In contrast to the analogous problem in the short wavelength limit, the long wavelength limit problem returns a divergent solution as it has been predicted by S. Weinberg. Solution was possible with the help of a new compact formula for the convolution of spherical Bessel functions of integer order.
