Results of high resolution (about 3 to 4 arcsecs) observations of DR 21 in the hydrogen and helium 76 alpha (VLA) and 110 alpha (WSRT) radio recombination lines combined with UKIRT observations of similar spatial resolution of Brackett alpha (4.052 microns) are discussed. From these observations, the detailed distribution of electron temperature, the abundance of singly ionized helium and the foreground extinction have been derived. It was found that Te is generally constant at approximately 7500 K for most of DR 21. Diagrams show data points, a model profile and residuals achieved best with double Gaussian for each alpha line profile. Properties of the ionized hydrogen and helium in DR 21 are also described.
