It is shown that the presence of an important local oscillator phase noise in a spectral-line radiometer amounts to an effective change in the frequency response of its channel filters. Computed data for a situation of practical interest are given. Effect on performance of a system built by the author for the Madrid Astronomical Observatory is described.
