I present the results of a study of induced Compton scattering in astrophysical plasmas. Both analytic and numerical techniques are used to describe the non-linear scattering of high brightness temperature radiation by electrons. Analytic expressions for the optical depth to stimulated scattering by relativistic electrons are derived for isotropic and highly collimated radiation. The wind emitted by a pulsar can be optically thick to stimulated scattering of the pulsed radio emission, so much so that it is difficult to understand how the radio emission is observed. The analytic results are confirmed by a numerical simulation of stimulated scattering by warm electrons. I find that stimulated scattering results in a spectral intensity I_ν ~ nu whenever the input luminosity is a power law with index alpha 1. This characteristic spectrum has been observed in individual components of the cores of compact radio sources.
