The effects of electron transport and replenishment in the acceleration region of impulsive solar flares is unclear. Radio and microwave emission observations also indicate electron trapping in the acceleration region. This presentation examines an acceleration model which includes electron transport, electron replenishment, and a convergent magnetic field in the acceleration region. The model relies on nonlinear MHD wave cascading to energize the electrons and will determine the maximum possible electron energies in this acceleration scenario, while roughly approximating the spatial distribution of electrons in the acceleration region. This work is done under the National Research Council Research Associates program with the National Academy of Sciences.
