Improved results of snap-shot observations carried out at 50 cm with a Global VLBI Network on four compact steep spectrum (CSS) quasars (3C 43, 3C 138, 3C 186, and 3C 216) from the 3CR catalog are presented. In the new reduction procedure the input models for the fringe fitting are the clean components obtained in previous work, which generate more accurate solutions for the delay and delay rate, thus allowing the retention of more visibility data on longer baselines. Global resolution has been achieved for all four objects, ranging from about 20 mas to 60 mas. The minimum measurable surface brightness ranges from about 5 to 40 about mJy/beam area. A bent jet in the core component of 3C 216 is clearly defined in the clean map. The low-brightness emission at the eastern end of the bending jet in 3C 43 was partly reconstructed for the first time in a VLBI map. The maps of 3C 138 and 3C 186 have higher resolutions than did earlier work, and provide more detail concerning the source structure.
