The establishment of a spectral responsivity scale for the spectral region 200 nm to 30 micrometers is reported. This required the construction of a range of facilities to evaluate detectors of different types and where necessary the development of special detectors with a higher performance than commercial devices. Significant improvements in the accuracy of optical radiation measurements in the visible and near infrared was achieved and work to develop detectors of improved performance for the ultraviolet and infrared spectral regions continues. Calibration services are offered using the facilities developed for this work.
