Improved calculations of continuous absorption from free-free
transitions of the negative carbon ion are made with continuum orbitals
computed with configuration interaction target atom wave-functions. We
fit the absorption coefficient to a simple analytical expression
suitable for stellar atmosphere opacity computations.
