Long-term measurements of the VLF-LF European stations were evaluated at Mikhnevo geophysical observatory (54.94°N, 37.73°E) since October 2007. Under solar minima conditions significant disturbances of the diurnal amplitude dynamics are observed. Simultaneous analysis of EOS-Aura satellite data, namely, temperature and water profiles has shown the correlation between perturbations of aforementioned parameters and VLF-LF signal anomalies. Numerical simulation of the lower ionosphere under the observed middle atmosphere parameters together with propagation simulation using Long-Wave Prediction Capability model prove the effect. Spectral analysis of disturbed VLF-LF data allows to identify the periods close to those of planetary and Rossby waves. Thus, observation evidence and numerical simulation prove the corollary that the lower ionosphere is very sensitive to the perturbations of the middle atmosphere meteorological and wave processes. This fact must be taken into account in seismo-ionospheric studying and allows further development of passive diagnostic tools for the investigation of the lower ionosphere and middle atmosphere by means of distributed VLF-LF receivers.
