Observations of the central region of the Seyfert galaxy NGC 1068, obtained with the 3.9-m AAT using a CCD detector and the Durham imaging polarimeter on December 6, 1989, are reported. Regions of enhanced polarization at the nucleus and 4.5 arcsec NE of the nucleus are found to be consistent with light scattering out of the radiation cone of the obscured nucleus. Also detected is evidence for a spiral-type magnetic-field configuration, with the polarization pattern following the optical structure.
