A mid-IR instrument(MIRI) for the NGST is currently under study by a european consortium. In that context, we are investigating at the Observatoire de Meudon the implementation of a high-contrast coronagraphic device. Numerical simulations have been performed to assess the performance of the NGST in what concern the search of extrasolar-planets. At mid-IR wavelengths we may expect to detect a few Jupiter masses using an appropriate coronagraph.
