Activity at Fresno State's Campus Observatory, on the grounds of the Downing Planetarium, is reported. The best images, mostly taken or processed by students, are presented, and the techniques used for the digital image processing are described. Several science programs involving students have produced results, including:
(1) Observations of the spectral evolution, over weeks, of several classical novae, including V4742 Sgr, V4743 Sgr, V475 Sct, V1186 Sco, and V1197 Sco.
(2) Observations simultaneous with Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, and Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer
(3) Searches for variability in candidate post-common-envelope binary star systems.
On most projects students collaborate with the Central Valley Astronomers, Fresno's amateur astronomy club, who are a great help.
