A method for imaging celestial X-ray or gamma-ray sources with a rotating modulator is described. It can measure the locations, dimensions and intensities of the sources. Advantages of the rotating modulator over conventional collimators are discussed. It can also measure the spectra and lines of celestial hard X-ray and gamma-ray sources.
