Venus, Phase Anomaly, Venus Atmosphere

The results of an observational campaign of Venus during evening elongation in 1997 are reported. The typical "phase anomaly" between theoretical and estimated phases of the planet was detected. The maximum of anomaly was reached on September 21, 1997, with a discrepancy of -6% with respect to expected value. The dicothomy was observed 7-8 days before the expected date. Some geometrical considerations about the McCue and Nichol theory are discussed.
