In the Museum of Este, near Padua in Italy, lies the missing ring of an
ancient gnomonic tradition. A small portable roman sundial is on display
behind the glasses of a casket, without knowing its real importance.
It's in fact the tangible witness of a much more ancient tradition than
what believed in the past.
