Preliminary results are presented for Raman spectroscopy identifications
of minerals in a limited suite of Martian surface analog materials. Used
in the point-counting mode, these and several other minerals can be
detected and characterized, irrespective of their presence as major,
minor, or trace components of rocks and soils.
