Oh/Ir Stars, Near-Infrared
Scientific paper
In June 1999 we started a near-infrared (NIR) monitoring of the full Arecibo sample of OH/IR stars (385 sources) using the 1.23 m telescope at Calar Alto Observatory equipped with the MAGIC IR camera. Since then, we have completed 6 observing runs and obtained J, H and K images of almost all sources in the sample (97%) under good photometric conditions. NIR and optical counterparts have been identified and NIR photometric data has also been obtained.
