ICMEs are notoriously difficult to define, with separate event lists containing different events and different boundaries for a given event. Part of the reason for this confusion is that there are many methods for identifying ICME ejecta. In order to facilitate comparisons between methods, we compile a comprehensive list of ICME lists from the literature, along with associated CMEs, when available, and other associated details such as shocks and source region characteristics. For each event, there is a short description of the method used. These event lists will be available at the Virtual Heliospheric Observatory (VHO; http://vho.nasa.gov/) in the near future. In addition, we present an related analysis in which different compositional signatures examined for their use in ICME identification.
