Scientific paper

In-situ determination of iodine content in silicate and sulfide (FeS) phases of a Semarkona chondrule was accomplished by laser-probe mass spectrometry. The I-Xe systematics for the analyzed phases are in agreement with bulk chondrule data obtained earlier by conventional mass spectrometric techniques. The iodine contents in FeS are slightly higher than in the silicate.
