HyperLeda is a database used to study galaxies in the nearby Universe, typically within z=1. This is the only source providing an homogeneous description for a large number of objects (presently 70 homogenized parameters collected for over 3 millions), from the local group of galaxies to distant galaxies down to an apparent magnitude of about 20 in the B-band. HyperLeda federates data over a large range of wavelengths, to provide a multi-parametric description of galaxies. HyperLeda is being integrated in the Virtual Observatory. The main strength is the added scientific value resulting from the effort of cross-identification and homogenisation. This makes the uniqueness of HyperLeda to build, in particular, a 3D view of the Local Universe.
