A simple approximation in which force balances parallel and perpendicular to streamlines are decoupled is presently used to study the thermal heating- or irradiation-driven hydrodynamic emanation of a hot gas from the surface of an accretion disk in the gravitational field of a central object. Attention is given to the properties of such two-dimensional flow patterns as the transonic surfaces of disk winds. Global behavior is demonstrated to be independent of the streamlines, and to exhibit the characteristic properties of the hydrodynamical winds from the disk.
