We have developed a code to simulate the evolution of ultracompact (UC) HII regions using the Virginia Hydrodynamics code (VH-1), a numerical inviscid code built on the piecewise parabolic method (PPM) developed by Collela and Woodward (1984). We have investigated the dynamic interaction of the photo-ionized Stromgren region with the young massive star's stellar wind in 1D and 2D using parameters from observed young massive stars. One-dimensional analysis has demonstrated the importance of photo-ionization in the early evolution of UCHII regions; 1D simulations included four different stellar types in a high-density medium. Two-dimensional analysis, just begun, will investigate the effects of varying the density and distribution of molecular material on the morphology of the evolving UCHII region. Initial results suggest that the resulting region morphologies resemble those found in high resolution surveys of W49 and Sgr B2 star-forming regions.
