The quasar 3C 147 was observed at 4885 MHz and 15,035 MHz on the VLA during bad weather. The random phase variations were too high to permit conventional mapping; therefore, hybrid maps were made using the closure phase. The maps show that the extended 'halo' component is situated on the side of the core opposite to the jet. This has interesting consequences for recent theories of extragalactic radio sources.
