New solutions for the motion of the sun are presented with respect to an all-sky sample of 200 spiral galaxies, having precise distance moduli derived from optical tertiary indicators. The solutions show that: (1) the solar motion relative to the frame of reference defined by the galaxies in the interval 2-32 Mpc is 340 + or - 60 km/sec toward galactic coordinates 125 deg + or - 16 deg, +24 deg + or - 8 deg; (2) after correction for solar motion in the Local Group, the motion of the Group is 255 km/sec toward 84 deg, -16 deg, which is displaced 25 deg to the northeast of the Virgo cluster; (3) the mean Hubble ratio is nearly constant at 96 km/sec/Mpc, independent of distance in the same interval; and (4) the velocity dispersion of 200 km/sec is greater than in the Local Group, where the dispersion is only 50 km/sec, reflecting the presence of higher-order terms in the velocity field rather than individual random processes.
